Amy McCoy, M.D.

Amy McCoy, MD attended college at the University of South Alabama where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then continued her education at South Alabama by attending and graduating medical school from there. During medical school, she received the Best OBGYN Student Award. She completed her residency at University of South Alabama Children’s and Women’s Hospital. Dr. McCoy received numerous awards during her residency including Best Intern, Best Gynecology Oncology Resident, Best REI Resident, and the Minimally Invasive Gynecology Award. She received an award for her research on endometrial cancer and her paper was published in the journal Histology and Histopathology.

Dr. McCoy has served in numerous leadership positions both at work and in the community. She has served as the chairman of Women’s and Children’s Committee, was a member of the Medical Executive Committee, the Credentialing Committee, and Surgical Committee. She was honored with the Nappie Award for “Best Hoo Ha” doctor and named in Mobile Bay Magazine’s “40 under 40”. She has served in several chair positions for Junior League of Mobile and is currently on the University of South Alabama National Alumni Board.

Dr. McCoy specializes in robotic and other minimally invasive gynecological surgery. She trains other physicians in robotics as a proctor for DaVinci. She enjoys educating her patients on their health and has given numerous talks in the community. Dr. McCoy enjoys caring for her patients in all stages of their life from teens to obstetrics to menopause.

When not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, Jackson and Riley Cate. They enjoy boating, fishing, and being outdoors.
