Katelyn V. Braswell, M.D. attended Auburn University where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences and graduated Cum Laude. While in college she also studied abroad in Spain, obtaining a minor in Spanish. She then completed her education at the University of South Alabama where she obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree. While in medical school, she participated in a medical mission trip to Honduras and various medical societies.
Dr. Braswell completed her internship and residency at the University of South Alabama in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She was named best gynecology resident in 2014. Her research in residency involved physician practices in the face of prematurity. She presented a poster on this topic to the Central Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists annual meeting in Napa Valley, CA in 2013.
Dr. Braswell’s special interests involve preventative medicine, high risk obstetrics, and adolescent gynecology. She is trained in robotic surgery and minimally invasive surgery. She also has an interest in medical mission work, both at home and abroad.
Raised in Auburn, AL, Dr. Braswell relocated to Mobile for medical school and fell in love with the area. She is excited about starting her own private practice in town and building relationships with her patients. She is an avid Auburn football fan, and enjoys reading, time on the water, and travel.
